Bob Spendlove is well known in car and bike communities for his fantastic art work. We met Bob at the NEC Classic Motor Show and had the pleasure of getting some insight into how he approaches his commissions, and the attention to detail he applies. We also saw his latest work progress over the three days of the show.
Bob visits his clients to get to know their vehicle and how it behaves in different lights, before the sketching and painting process begins. He takes plenty of photos to refer to as he creates his masterpiece. We also love taking photos of our cars – and that’s where a logical idea formed.
There are many beautiful sites for Bonnes Routes guests to visit during their trip in France, and plenty of great photo opportunities for their car and bike. The ‘bon mariage’ combines the sites of France with a personalised painting. If visitors bring back photos of their favourite settings (whether a landscape, a chateau, a riverside or other location) Bob is able to incorporate them into the painting, resulting in a unique work of art which captures some great memories of your time in France as well as a timeless image of your car or bike.
Visit Bob Spendlove Arts website and Facebook page to see some of Bob’s great art work, and give Bob a call if you want to explore this ‘bon mariage’.
The concept obviously works the same if you take your car anywhere in the world, but don’t forget that idea was planted here at Bonnes Routes!
